Youngest Dancers Classes
Dance With Me, Pre-Primary, Primary, Pre-K, Kinder and Elementary dance classes are our youngest dancers’ first exposure to ballet and moving creatively to music. Our instructors foster a love and understanding of rhythm, coordination, exercise, and independence. Rotating class themes such as Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty help bring imagination to life in a continually engaging group setting.
Dance With Me and Pre-Primary Dance Classes
Dance With Me dance classes are the perfect introduction to a classroom setting for our tiniest dancers. Our instructors instill a love for dance and music in a fun interactive class structure that continually engages the interest of the children and parents alike. Caregivers participate in the activities with their children in Dance With Me providing support and comfort as their darling dancers gain the independent listening skills and confidence needed to graduate to Pre-Primary Dance. In Pre-Primary our tiniest dancers explore their budding autonomy in a class independent from their caregiver.

Primary Dance Classes
Primary and Pre-K classes are our youngest dancers’ first exposure to ballet and moving creatively to music. Kinder and Elementary classes continue to expand the young students’ sense of expression and joy of movement while beginning to introduce the fundamentals of classical ballet within a nurturing classroom experience.

Youth Ballet Dance Classes
The Youth Ballet Levels each instruct a progressing syllabus of steps and techniques in the classical ballet cannon. As students advance through the levels, increased opportunities to bring their developing classwork and artistic expression to life are realized through performing in the Ballet Conservatory. The dancers’ intermediate training culminates with graduation from Ballet 3 and thus earning their first pair of pointe shoes to begin Ballet 4!

Teens Beginning & Intermediate Dance Classes
The Teen Dance Classes are an excellent option for the dancer age 12 and older with little to moderate previous training. Our dance classes for teens focus on adolescents who seek to garner new skills and improve their mindset. Whether learning basics for a school dance team, increasing flexibility and strength, or developing skills needed to move sideways into the Youth Ballet classes, dance classes for teens have something for everyone!

Pre-Professional Program
The Pre-Professional Program is an accelerated track for the ambitious dancer that offers advanced instruction and curriculum 5 or 6 days per week. This program is about perfecting technique and learning deeply about ballet as an athletic art-form in an exhilarating, inspiring environment. Students take pointe, variations, contemporary and jazz to prepare for performances and auditions. Dancers also participate in field trips to see touring and local professional companies. Seminars also educate the students from a holistic point of view on relevant subjects such as nutrition, injury prevention, conditioning, ballet history, and audition preparation. In addition to the Nutcracker with live orchestra and Graduation Recital, these dancers perform in the Spring Showcase and community events.

Conservatory Dance Classes
Starting in Ballet 2, our popular Conservatory Program provides additional performance opportunities for dancers to take their technique and developing artistry from the studio to the stage. The Conservatory dancers have most recently originated and performed well-received original excerpts of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Coppelia, and Strike Up the Band to the marches of John Philip Sousa.

Lyrical Dance Classes
Lyrical dance classes teach the fluid and emotive dance form that is Lyrical. Combining elements of contemporary dance and ballet, dancers learn fun and virtuosic group choreography. Perfect for the beginning to intermediate dancer and popular music lover, this dance form often focuses on expressing the lyrics of emotional songs through dance. Placement is based on age and ability.

Contemporary Dance Classes
Contemporary dance classes in San Diego are a combination of lyrical, modern dance technique, and ballet that offer the opportunity to experiment and expand on classical dance forms. Imagine what you see on the TV show “So You Think You Can Dance”. Music is typically alternative pop or purely instrumental. Placement is based on age and ability with concurrent ballet training expected.
