Jenny Asseff started as a talented gymnast, but fell in love with dance training at age twelve. After completing a B.A. in Dance at the Catholic University of Daegu in South Korea, she was invited to join the California Ballet Company in 2001 as an apprentice. Ms.Asseff was quickly promoted to the Corps de Ballet, in which she performed a wide array of roles until 2010. She was honored with California Ballet’s “Dancer of the Year” for the 2005-2006 Season for her achievements. Jenny also choreographed original works that have been performed worldwide, including Devil’s Trill and Surreality which premiered in both Tokyo, Japan and San Diego, California. Her work Before the Dawn was showcased at California Ballet’s popular “Beer and Ballet” program.
Jenny has been teaching students in San Diego for over a decade. She is an ABT® certified teacher in the Primary through level 7 divisions of the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, and is certified in “Progressing Ballet Technique”. She relishes every opportunity to work with dancers to achieve their greatest potential in the discipline, art, and joy of classical ballet.
